Vases made of woven natural materials, like our large Sakra vase, are not only beautiful as decorative elements but also as practical furniture. They are the perfect complement to dried flowers or palm leaves, but with a matching, waterproof liner, green plants can also find a home here.
Sakra is characterized by its unique weave: Sturdy, thick strands of untreated brown banana fibers are connected with a hand-knotted net of fine raffia fibers and formed into a spherical vase shape. The planter adds a natural and charming touch to your living space and creates an incomparable ambiance. With its impressive height of 56 cm, it is sure to become one of the most striking highlights in your home.

Main Material: Banana Fiber
Our vases are made of plant fibers. They therefore smell and feel wonderfully of nature.
Banana fibers are fibers from the layered trunks of banana trees used in agriculture. The intense brown color develops naturally when the fibers are dried in the sun for about a week. The individual strips are then rolled into the characteristic, approximately 6 mm thick strands. Only old, dying banana trees are used for this material. This gives these plants a second life as a dimensionally stable and robust raw material for many handmade baskets here at Soeji.

This vase is handmade in Java, Indonesia.
When selecting our local producers, we value fair wages and good working conditions. Only mature and experienced artisans work at the companies where we source our goods. No harmful chemicals are used in the production process. Because all work steps are carried out by hand, the production process generates minimal greenhouse gas emissions. We ensure this through regular on-site visits and ongoing personal contact with the companies.
