Our rectangular Sewu rug is carefully handcrafted from seagrass and recycled plastic. The intricate weaving process requires a great deal of patience and practice from the skilled artisans who specialize in working with these plant fibers.
It complements any interior style and fits effortlessly into your personal oasis. The neutral design with its four contrasting colored stripes never looks obtrusive, but rather a minimalist upgrade for your home. Due to its compact size and rough texture, Sewu can also be used as a truly unique doormat for wide entrance doors.

Main Material: Seagrass
Our rugs are made of plant fibers. They therefore smell and feel wonderfully of nature.
What basket makers commonly call "seagrass" is not actually an (underwater) plant, but a small, palm-like plant that is widespread on sandy beaches in the tropics of Asia. The leaves of the plants, which are often cultivated by humans, are separated, cut into strips, dried, and then processed by hand.

Production Location:
This rug is handmade in Java, Indonesia. When selecting our local producers, we value fair wages and good working conditions. In the factories where we source our goods, we employ only mature and experienced artisans. No harmful chemicals are used in the production process. Because all work steps are carried out by hand, the production process generates minimal greenhouse gas emissions. We ensure this through regular on-site visits and ongoing personal contact with the companies.
We verzenden mooie dingen, en dat ook nog eens razendsnel. De meeste bestellingen worden binnen 2-3 werkdagen verzonden. Je ontvangt een tracking nummer zodra je pakket onderweg is. Begin maar met controleren.
