The flower-shaped Melaya wall decoration impresses with its simplicity. It consists of just one material: untreated banana fibers in their natural dark brown color. Especially in combination with our other wall decorations, where white is usually the dominant color, you can create interesting contrasts.
Melaya can also be used as a bowl and is available in two different sizes.

Main material: banana fiber
Our wall decorations are made from plant fibers. They therefore smell and feel wonderfully of nature.
Banana fibers are fibers derived from the layered trunks of banana trees in agriculture. The intense brown color develops naturally when the fibers are dried in the sun for about a week. The individual strips are then rolled into the characteristic strands, which are approximately 6 mm thick. Only old, dying banana trees are used for this material. This gives these useful plants a second life as dimensionally stable and robust starting material for many handmade baskets here at Soeji.

This wall decoration is handmade in Java, Indonesia.
When selecting our local producers, we value fair wages and good working conditions. Only mature and experienced craftspeople work at the companies where we source our goods. No harmful chemicals are used in the production process. Because all work steps are carried out by hand, the production process generates minimal greenhouse gas emissions. We ensure this through regular on-site visits and ongoing personal contact with the companies.
We verzenden mooie dingen, en dat ook nog eens razendsnel. De meeste bestellingen worden binnen 2-3 werkdagen verzonden. Je ontvangt een tracking nummer zodra je pakket onderweg is. Begin maar met controleren.
Toch niet naar je zin? Geen probleem. Als het niet helemaal in orde is, heb je 30 dagen de tijd om je artikel te retourneren – zonder gedoe. Zorg ervoor dat het ongebruikt is en in de originele verpakking zit en ga vervolgens naar ons [Retourportaal] om te beginnen.
