Dayana is a decorative water hyacinth vase woven into a sturdy metal frame. The striped combination of natural-colored and black-dyed water hyacinth fibers makes the vase an eye-catching piece, and the tall, slender vase accentuates corners and alcoves.
The woven vase is particularly suitable as a boho-style home accessory for dried flowers, but can also be used for cut flowers if you use a waterproof container as the liner.
Dayana is also available in natural color.

Main Material: Water Hyacinth
Our vases are made of plant fibers. They therefore smell and feel wonderfully of nature.
The water hyacinth is a tropical aquatic plant that grows in rivers and lakes. It is originally native to South America but was also introduced to Southeast Asia. There, it is considered a weed because it reproduces incredibly quickly and can cover entire bodies of water with a carpet of leaves. The resulting lack of light and oxygen causes all aquatic life to die. Therefore, the plants must be removed regularly. To prepare the plants for further processing, the leaves are cut and the thick stems are dried in the sun for three to seven days. The result is a sustainable raw material that is abundantly available here at Soeji for many woven goods!

Production location:
This vase is handmade in Java, Indonesia.
When selecting our local producers, we value fair wages and good working conditions. Only mature and experienced artisans work at the companies where we source our goods. No harmful chemicals are used in the production process. Because all work steps are carried out by hand, the production process generates minimal greenhouse gas emissions. We ensure this through regular on-site visits and ongoing personal contact with the companies.
