Our Kerta rug is handwoven on traditional looms using recycled, fine cotton fibers. This expert craftsmanship creates a modern pattern characterized by black stripes of varying lengths. Together with the short fringes at both ends, they give Kerta a playful lightness and skillfully combine traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design.
With its generous dimensions of 150x120 cm or 260x120 cm, Kerta becomes a stylish focal point in your home and adds structure to larger open spaces. The simple color combination of black and white makes the rug extremely versatile, allowing it to fit seamlessly into a wide variety of interior styles and charmingly accentuate your interior.

Our products are beautifully crafted individual pieces. They may vary slightly in size, color, and shape due to handcrafting and natural variations in materials.

Material: Cotton
For our products, we use cotton from local farmers in Java. The cotton fields are naturally fertilized, and the cotton bolls are picked by hand. The cotton is then separated from the pod in a ginning machine. The resulting cotton is pressed into bales, combed, and spun into yarn by hand. After being spun in this way, the artisans hand-weave it on traditional wooden looms. Cotton is characterized by its absorbency and skin-friendliness. Our cotton is not chemically treated and is therefore not suitable for tumble drying. The products should be ironed at low temperatures.

This rug is handmade in Java, Indonesia.
When selecting our local producers, we value fair wages and good working conditions. In the factories where we source our goods, we employ only mature and experienced artisans. No harmful chemicals are used in the production process. Because all work steps are carried out by hand, the production process generates minimal greenhouse gas emissions. We guarantee this through regular on-site visits and ongoing personal contact with the companies.
